Bistable spin · silhouette ambiguity
Thousands of specks sit on a sphere turning at one fixed rate. The flat projection throws away depth, so front and back move in opposite screen directions with no cue to say which is which. Your visual system must guess — and you can flip the guess on purpose. Radar displays, wire-frame CAD and the spinning-dancer illusion share exactly this ambiguity.
