Logarithmic vortex · self-similar rotation
Shrink a polygon by a constant factor and turn it by a constant angle, then repeat. Every step is the same operation, so the corners trace a logarithmic spiral — the one curve that looks identical at every zoom level. Nautilus shells, spiral galaxies, hurricane arms and the flight path of a hawk circling its prey all follow the same equiangular law.
